Suggest Treatment For Seborrhoeic Dermatitis On Scalp

Question: Good day,
I'm 26 and have been suffering from seborrhoeic dermatitis at varying degrees of severity since i was 15. So much so that the scalp flaking some times extends to flaking on my eyebrows and beard and even chest hair. Also I have now started balding so i keep my hair extremely short. I've visited a couple of dermatologists and they've guided me to using ketonocazole based and then salicylic acid based scalp shampoos as well as mometazone for the beard and chest hair.
Normally, my scalp is extremely dry. I find flakes of dry skin on my scalp within a couple of hours after a hair bath. the dryness starts at the top of my scalp and then extends to the area above my ears and then progresses to the whole scalp.
I'm looking to find a more permanent solution to his problem, and i'm open to ayurvedic solutions as well. Basically anything that will let me not worry about big huge dry skin scales falling off my scalp.
HELP!

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing to us.
Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic eczema which also has a fungal etiology.
It can be frustrating for the patients at times due to its recurrent nature.
I usually treat SD by using oral steroids, oral antifungals, isotretinoin, topical shampoos and steroid antifungal creams.
I would appreciate if you could send me few pics depicting your SD lesions esp over scalp, so that I can prescribe a customised treatment plan. Once it is under remission, we can use minimal drugs to keep it under control.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Take care

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for uploading the pics.
Had you been my patient I would have prescribed these medicines
1) keraglo ad/protar k/salisia kt shampoo, to be applied every alternate days over scalp for five to ten minutes then washed off.
2) mometasone or betamethasone lotion every night over scalp
Once the scalp is completely clean, just use shampoo once or twice a week.
3)for skin lesions, you may use mometasone terbinafine combination cream like momoz t twice in a day till lesions resolve.
4) if the lesions are persistent and recurrent then sometimes I add tablet terbinafine 250 mg daily for two weeks.
You may start with topical treatment to control SD. Once response is achieved, start minoxidil 5 % 1ml twice in a day along with a hair supplement like androanagen once daily atleast for five to six months for hair growth. Your hair fall could be because of dandruff as well as male pattern baldness.
Hope this helped.
Take care
