Suggest Treatment For Seizures Caused By High Fever In A Child
Question: Hello doctor , my son has fever 102 he is 3years 9 month old I give him crocin Ds 4 ml but within 1 hr fever is come back also my doctor prescribed meptal-p 7 ml for after this I give him AZee 100 mg antibiotics 7ml also. Now his fever is come down but he is sweating.he is fever seizures in 3 years old for 1 minutes. Pls tell me what is good for him.help me doc as soon as possible.

I have gone through your query. Diazepam is usually given for seizure prophylaxis. You can ask your doctor for prescription of this and keep for the time when he is having fever.
Crocin Ds is paracetamol syrup and meftal p is mefenamic acid and paracetamol combination. Meftal p will be better to control his fever and no need to give crocin Ds if giving meftal p. Other option is keeping paracetamol suppository which will decrease fever faster.
Azee is antibiotic azithromycin. If he is having bacterial infection then it can be given 1 time daily according to your doctor's advise. It has no direct effect in decreasing fever but by eradicating infection there is an indirect role.
As the fever come down there is nothing to worry. Give him more fluids as he will be having fluid loss during high fever. You can give lemon tea , soups etc also.
