Suggest Treatment For Seronegative Arthiritis

default
Posted on Tue, 20 May 2014
Question: My sister-in-law diagnosed with seronegative arthiritis and Hypothyroidism. She got severe pain and inflammation on joints and it is there for past 10 weeks. Now, everyday, she gets injection 'steroid 1 ml, diclofenac 1 ml and Vitamin b12 1.5ml'. No pain if injection taken, not otherwise.

So, is this a curable disease? She is 37 years old. How long she should take these injections? Are there any side effects?

Brief Answer:
not

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query

I am Dr. Alok and very pleased to be assisting you with your health questions today.

seronegative arthritis is a well treatable condition, if treated by trained rheumatologist. There are many medicines are available including methotrexate, sulfasalazine, leflunomide etc.. Pain killer is not the answer for this disease. This is not a curable disease but well treatable disease like diabetes, hypertension etc.
I advise you to see a rheumatologist as soon as possible

Hope this helps and provides answers to your question.
