Need some more information
Detailed Answer:
Hi There
I am Dr Mittal
I have read your query
And I think I can help you
I would, at the onset, like to ask you, who told you it was a migraine? Or was it your own diagnosis?
The pain in the head, with radiation down the neck can give us an alternative diagnosis of cervical spondylosis. This could be confirmed by a cervical x ray.
As for the headache, can you describe the kind of pain? Can you give me more details about the pain and the associated symptoms?
Please respond to these questions and I will try to help you further
Best of luck
Dr Mittal

                                    Brief Answer:
Sounds like migraine. A few specific details asked
Detailed Answer:
I would almost agree with your doctor with those symptoms to be a migraine.
May I ask you how long the migraines persist?
Also, do you have a cold/cough?
Pain the the jaw/face?
Any eye complaints?
Migraine usually has a trigger- coffee, tea, bright sun etc. Noticed any?
Is the pain relieved on sleeping?

                                    Brief Answer:
Suggest the follows
Detailed Answer:
I think there is a definitive possibility of this being something else like cervical spondylosis or trigeminal neuralgia.
It would be difficult to determine this without examination.
I would however suggest a prescription of flunarizine daily (in case you have headaches on most days of the month). And amitryptiline in association with ranitidine for an acute episode of pain.
The latter is best taken within 5 mins of onset of headache, else the medicine may not really work.
I will also suggest an ENT and Opthalm evaluation.
Best of luck
