Question : I have several pimple wounds on my upper leg. They are red, open wound and some have scabs. If I put a bandaid on them, they turn pale and ooze fluid and or creamy colored pus. They are painful. I can’t get them to heal and go away. They started from my dry skin and sessions of scratching them.
I wash them with Wound Care or Soap and Water. I may use alcohol on them, dry them and put neosporin on them. I can’t get them to heal and it’s a mess!
Thank You,
XXXX, age 68

Brief Answer:
Bacterial infection with foliculitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have read your query with attached photograph.
* It is bacterial infection of the upper leg with foliculitis.
* As there is more redness, pus discharge with pain ; I suggest to
- Use epsom salt bath with lukewarm water
- Continue neosporin application
- Try not to scratch them
- Keep blood sugar under control
- Get prescription of an antibiotic with anti inflammatory drugs for faster recovery
- Presently can take tab. paracetamol ( 500 mg ) 3 times a day after meals, if no
drug sensitivity for the same.
Wish you fine recovery.
Regards.
