Suggest Treatment For Severe GERD

Question: Hello,
A quick question, I had a A fib attack 2 years ago, cardioverted and put on CPAP. Still had sinus tachycardia. New cardiologist put me on nadalol and Nexium and said he felt i had GERD/Acid re-flux that was causing the fast sinus rhythm. I wore a 2 week monitor and only one PVC all else looks good, structure heart okay. I decided to see a gastro doctor in 2 weeks to make sure I have gerd. Had 6 peptic ulcers 20 years ago but nothing I can say recently.

My question is I am always burping after I eat for hours(20-30 times). My pulse on nadalol is great no issues. I dont have any real pain in throat or stomach so I hear so much about acid reflux being painful and I just dont feel that way. I loved spicy foods in the past but now at 49 and last few years my stomach is in knots after spicy stuff so something is going on.

1) can I have no real symptoms of acid reflux/GERD and have it?
2) my sister recommended apple vinegar too, that seems to help but is it okay with Nexium, she has documented GERD
3) Any questions I should highlight with gastro doc.
4) should I take enzymes to bereak food down.

Thanks.......

Brief Answer:
yes GERD can be asymptomatic also

Detailed Answer:
Hello . Thanks for puting your query in hcm. GERD can be asymptomaric also so one can have GERD without having symptoms typical of it. Vinegar apple will lead to increase in acid production so dont take it. You may ask your gastroenterologist for endoscopy examination and use of a prokinetic agent that will also relieve burps. No there is no need of enzymes which has a very specific indication like pancreatic insufficiency and nothing else. I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. Wish you a good health.
