Question : A few weeks ago I had lower abdominal pain and took cipro. The pain stopped after a few days. Two days ago I started to experience the same pain and called my urologist who prescribed cipro again . I have been taking it for two days but the lower abdominal pain is worse. Very stabbing and aggravated when I sit down

Pain in the lower abdomen could be due to many reasons like infection of urinary bladder,infection of Gastrointestinal tract etc.
If it is bladder infection, apart from Ciprofloxacin, I will also prescribe antispasmodic tablet containing Dicyclomine twice daily,Citralka solution, 5 ml in glass of water twice daily for 1 week
Ultrasound abdomen will give a clue.
Any collection of pus inside the abdomen will also cause severe pain.
I request you to consult your doctor again , explain the non responsiveness to the Ciprofloxacin treatment and get an Ultrasound abdomen.
