Posted on Sat, 11 Jun 2016
Question: I'm a 30 years okd female. I was treated for h. Pylori 8 months ago with antibiotics. I felt better but develop problems in my throat afterwards like phlegm build up after eating, white tongue, sores which come and go and now i started having that indigestion feeling again. I'm afraid h. Pylori came back. Is this possible?

Brief Answer:
This may rather be an acid reflux problem at this time!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed these symptoms fully and they are suggestive of acid reflux and not H.Pylori. Just to be safe, I will recommend that you do a H. Pylori test to exclude this as a possible cause. Then, move on to get managed for acid reflux. This consists in avoiding late meals at night, no alcohol, smoking, chocolates and leaning forward or going to bed too soon after meals. If this is not enough to control the symptoms, then we should add omeprazole or ranitidine to help relief the pains. If these all fail, then see a gastroenterologist for endoscopic evaluations and management.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.

Can i have acid reflux without heartburn? Also, forgot to mention i've been taking cabergoline .5 mg for high prolactine levels. I've been also having night sweats and dizziness. I checked my blood peessure and it's normal.

Brief Answer:
Yes, t is possible and more so during the early phase!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is possible to get acid reflux without heartburns especially in the early phase. This is why I will like you to try out this medication. On another note, cabergoline cannot explain the symptoms of cough and phlegm build up that you reported. However, dizziness and nights sweats can be attributed to this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more clarifications if need be.
