Question : Have acid REFLUX for nearly two years. Consulted with a doctor and he asked me to take Pantaprazole 40 mg twice per day for a month and to have once per day for the subsequent month.

The two months course was over last Sunday. I was fine with out any trouble during those two months. But since I've stopped taking the tablets, I again started having REFLUX and its severe. I'm not having spicy/oily food. And no outside food. No problems with bowel movements as well.

Please suggest something.

Thanks,
XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for an elucidate history.

It is good to know you are not taking any outside food/ oily and spicy foods and you have completed the course of Pantoprazole.
Great that this helped you a lot.

Now that you have started with severe reflux, I would like to suggest the following.

Continue food habits as before..
Start again Pantoprazole 40 once a day.
Add on an antacid gel/ Domperidone as per your Doctor's advise.

I would advise all such patients to undergo at least once _ Upper GI endoscopy and Ultrasonography to confirm or rule out associated problems.

Lifestyle with no or minimum stress and tensions helps as good as medicines, I think you will agree with .

Wishing you an early and permanent recovery .
Please feel free to ask for further if have any more queries.
