Question : While I am currently having some dental work done ( a couple of dental implants) which may explain it but I have developed a bad taste in my mouth which flavors everything I eat. When I first developed the taste, I could even smell it in my sinuses but it has become less intense and I don't smell it anymore. I do have some problem with acid reflux but I was wondering if other (more serious) conditions might cause this.

Thanks for writing in.

I would like to tell you that bad taste can be due to gastric problem as this may cause acid reflux in mouth and produce bad taste. In case you have some redness in area of implant then it can be due to infection in implant. You need to rule out the cause and take treatment accordingly.

Consult physician for gastric problem and oral surgeon for implants.

Maintain good oral hygiene and do regular toothbrushing and use mouthwash.
