Question : my son as been unable to clear his skin. His acne is mainly on his cheeks. He has cut his hair very short, and keeps his skin clean, but nothing seems to help. He wants to try proactive, but I have heard mixed things about how effective this product is. .

Brief Answer:
Give details about his previous acne treatments

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your query and I understand that you are concerned about your son's acne.

As a sole antiacne medication I would normally advice this product (proactive) to be used only for mider grade of acne rather than for acne that is moderate to severe grade.

On the other hand for acne that is stubborn Or is moderate to severe grade Or relapses quickly after treatment is discontinued Or responds only partially to antiacne medications I would rather suggest Oral Retinoids i.e Isotretinoin (Accutane). Isotretinoin is the single most effective treatment for acne that is hard to treat with conventional antiacne treatment Or acne that is moderate to severe grade Or acne that is prone to scar.

I would like to know what all treatments he has been on?

Regards
