She just called from XXXXXXX and said she needs help and is ready to take whatever needs and counseling she can find . She really has had a form of social anxiety since she was about 8 years old . It has reached a huge peak and she feels desperate. I told her I would try to find someone. next problem..with a new job she can only be seen after work or weekends. Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

I'm sorry your daughter is having such a tough time. However, there is good news: anxiety and panic can be fully treated with the right treatment regimen. This usually consists of a combination of medication (an SSRI antidepressant such as Lexapro or Zoloft) and psychotherapy (such as cognitive behavioral therapy). I would recommend she seek out a psychiatrist in her area who can provide medication management and therapy. I would suggest Lexapro and CBT as a beginning treatment -- I am sure she will get better over time.
