Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy, stress, excessive exertion or most commonly due to hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactinemia or polycystic ovarian disease.
If your pregnancy tests are negative, then pregnancy is ruled out. Back pain seems to be unassociated with delayed periods, however can occur if there is pelvic infection or ovarian cysts, which are also responsible for menstrual irregularities.
Ovulation does not occurs while on birth control pills. Moreover, irregular por no ovulation due to abovementioned causes are the cause for delayed periods.
I would suggest you to get your hormonal profile and ultrasound done to diagnose the condition, and consult your doctor to put you on progesterone withdrawl rather than birth control pills, so that you get your periods and possibility of ovulation further is there.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, thanks for responding.
Pain in right side pelvic area is more suggestive of ovarian pathology. Ovarian disease can occur in any age group in females, though the incidence of malignancy is more after 40 years of age. I would strongly suggest you to get a ultrasound done to rule out any ovarian pathology.
Birth control pills will make your period come, but will prevent ovulation till you take them. Moreover, birth control pills are not the first mode of treatment given for withdrawl, rather, progesterone drugs like medroxyprogesterone acetate is given for 5 days to induce withdrawl bleeding.
