Question : Lately I have noticed I have been having muscle pain in both my calf's. When I go to sit down on the toilet, I just have to fall at a certain point. They hurt when I walk, and I already use a cane, from a back surgery. If you put pressure on them it is painful, I have had one back surgery on the C4-S1, and the Dr. says I still need surgery on C3-C4, he says I have Curvature of the Spine, I'm 60 have had a multitude of x-ray's and I am just finding this out! But what would cause the pain in the back of both my calf's? Why are they painful when you touch them? Perhaps I should mention I am Bi-polar and take 7 or 8 medications just to be normal, could one of my med's be causing this?
Brief Answer:
Seroquel can be the reason of such symptom.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
For sure some medicines used in bi-polar diseases treatment can cause such symptoms (Seroquel for example).
Magnesium and Potassium deficiency can also give calf pain which gets stronger during the night.
Cervical spine problems do not affect lower limbs.
Veins insufficiency or even veins thrombosis can give such symptom as well.
I suggest you to review your medicines at first and discuss this symptom with your doctor.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I do take the Generic form of Seroquel, Quetiapine 100mg at night. Great that you picked up on that so easily.
I'll be seeing a new Psychiatrist due change in insurance coverage I'm just going to say it "Obama Rules" but thank you for your great response. Super happy!
