Suggest Treatment For Severe Chills And Shivering For About An Hour

Question: My 73 yr old husband is having severe chills/shivering for about an hour. Hot shower didn't help. At times he's shaking so badly he has trouble patching his breath. He doesn't seem to have a fever. What should I do?
Yesterday he had a stress test, the non-treadmill kind. Could his injections have anything to do with this?

Brief Answer:
Possibly. Is he having any rash!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This is possibly a reaction from the contrast products used. I will like to know if he has any rash on his body. In the mean time, increased fluids intake and benadryl might provide some help in this regard.
If his breathing gets difficult, I will recommend you take him to the ER.
I hope this helps and guides. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me and keep me updated on this.

Is anybody there?
Brief Answer:
Give benadryl and monitor.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I recommend benadryl only at this time. Increased fluid intake and monitor his breathing. If he gets any wheezes or breaths more than 24times per minute, use the ER.
Am always available to follow up as you please.
