Question : Hello Doctor

My wife XXXX XXXXXXX is suffering with severe cold and cough. She is breastfeeding our 8-month old baby boy. Please suggest what over the counter she can use to get relief from cold and cough.

FYI.. she recently traveled from XXXXXXX to Bengaluru.

Can take antiallergic like cetirizine

Thanks for your query,

I have read your query. Since your wife is breastfeeding, I will suggest that she take the following:

Tablet crocin 500 mg 3-4 times a day for fever
Tab cetrizine 1-2 times a day for runny nose
Syrup honitus to soothe the throat
Warm fluids

The above medicines will help with the symptoms and will not adversely affect the baby.
