Question : my wife breast feeding mother. 3 1/2 months kid. My wife got severe cold and cough. what medicine is best without effecting baby.

She can take cough and cold syrups that contain chlorpheniramine or cetirizine. Most such preparations do not affect the baby.
Combination of cetirizine is available in many brands. One of them is C-tin plus. It can be taken 2 times a day.
Alongwith she can take dabur honitus 2-3 times a day.
Warm fluids like clean water boiled with ginger and saunf will also provide relief.
Steam inhalation is also good.
For fever she can take paracetamol 500mg 3-4 times a day.
