Suggest Treatment For Severe Concussion, Tinnitus And Anxiety
Question: Hi
I had a severe concussion 16 months ago. I have been dealing with tinnitus and anxiety since my head trauma. Also, I have been taking mecovon OD capsule atleast 4-5 times a week for more than a year which my ENT prescribed to me only for a month but I have been taking it for about a year as I read that B vitamins are crucial for brain after the trauma. It contains mecobalamin 1.5 mg, alpha lipoic acid 100 mg, folic acid 1.5 mg, pyridoxine hydrochloride 3 mg. It makes me calm and to some extent made a difference to my tinnitus and healed my nerves in ears. I have stopped taking it since 15 days. I am concerned that I have overdosed on it and wonder if I have done any sort of damage to myself for taking it so long. I have asked some doctors and they told me that I can continue taking it its harmless. But I am concerned. Should I get a blood test done for B vitamins ? Is it OK if I have taken it for a year? Have I done any damage ? Any suggestions? Tha ms for your time

Thank you once again for replying Doc. I appreciate your taking out time to address our queries. I have already stopped taking it and will get the B12 test done like you said. Also I had pilonodal cyst a few days ago so I went to my GP and he gave me antibiotics and neurozan tab for tinnitus problem and general brain health. He said it contains gingko biloba it should give some relief in 2-3 months. I read that it contains B vitamins as well in fairly good quantity. I am not sure if I should be thinking so much about taking B vitamins in neurozan. But I am eager to give neurozan a try for tinnitus. What do you suggest? Thanks for your time
