Question : I was recently diagnosed with a large, complex ovarian cyst at the emergency room when I went there in excruciating pain. I am usually very regular, as in daily but I was constipated for 7 days before I could have a bowel movement. Now it's been 5 more days and I can't push the stool out much even though my body is ready to go. I keep straining, even though it's painful, but barely anything comes out. My anus and vagina are protruding. It's like a stool too large to come out is blocking everything. I've been on the toilet for hours. When I get up, I leak. I'm very uncomfortable and don't know what to do. Please help!!! Thank you, XXXX

Brief Answer:
Following advise for constipation

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I am sorry for the situation you are in.

Additional to your fiber-rich diet, I also recommend to:
1. try anal enema to ease bowel movements
2. increase water intake
3. take mutamucil and senna supplements
4. probiotics are also advised to stabilize intestinal flora
You can discuss these possibilities with your treating doctor.

I also advise to schedule colonoscopy for further evaluations.

Wish fast recovery!
