Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Chest Pain

default
Posted on Sat, 11 Apr 2015
Question: I recently had a sinus infection that left me with a vicious cough. At one point I coughed so hard I felt a squeezing sensation in my chest. Can coughing cause a heart attack? I later coughed so hard I injured my esophogus and got a bloody nose. The chest pain really scared me though.

Brief Answer:
get yourself clinically examined and investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that you might be having bronchitis. I would suggest that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated by your doctor. A bronchodilator may be needed for relief. A clinical examination and investigation will help in planning further medical management.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help. Regards. Thanks.

Is it possible for hard coughing to cause cardiac arrest? Does bronchitis cause cardiac pain and a squeezing sensation on the left side of the chest?

Brief Answer:
clinical evaluation is needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your response.
Heart attack and cardiac pain can be due to any physical or mental stress, provided other conditions are present like family history of heart attack, high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidemia, etc. Bronchitis can cause chest discomfort and breathing problems. I would suggest that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated.
I hope this answers your query. If you have any further doubts, please mention.
Regards. Thanks.
