Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough

Question : My dad had severe cough in the afternoon after he took his regular tablets.As per doctors advise, we took him to ENT specialist, who checked & told us nothing is stuck in the throat.
Then we took chest x ray & there was no problem.We came home & he was fine for an hour.He again started coughing & we gave him Allegra.
Please advise.We are worried as Doctors are not available tomorrow.

I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, we should rule out bronchitis in your father's case.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. PFT (pulmonary function test).
If PFT is also normal then no need to worry for bronchitis.
Sometimes, heart diseases can also cause similar symptoms.
So also get done ecg and 2d echo to rule out heart diseases.
