Suggest Treatment For Severe Dehydration And Dry Mouth

default
Posted on Fri, 30 Jan 2015
Question: Hi, I have insaciable thirst, I drink 1 to 2 gallons of water, milk and 100% juices a day. But I have severe dehydration which is growing more and more each day. This has happened over the last month and a half. I have quit smoking and wine recently too. This morning I have vomited 3 times all liquids.
My stomach has a uncomfortable feeling as well, with severe dry mouth.

Brief Answer:
Please, this may be diabetes mellitus or insipidus. See an endocrinologist!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have further questions to help get to the specific answer:

1. Do you also urinate abundantly?
2. Have you ever had a blood glucose test?

I will like to get answers to the above and make further recommendations on what to do. for now, the safest way forward is to drink as much water as you need until we pinpoint the problem and address accordingly.

Hope to hear from you!
