He started feeling low in confidence. He stopped meeting with other people and used to feel low all the time. Parents took him to few docs and he was on medications for last few months. During this time he developed a strange issue. His eyeballs start moving left to right and he is not able to maintain an eye contact with anyone. Once eyes start moving he switches all the lights of house and out a cloth on his eyes and lays down on the bed.He starts having headache also during this time. He feels like his voice is echoing in mind and his legs are shivering.

This happens to him in every two three days. I think the heavy medicines are making his mind dead. But don't have dare to stop them. Doctors please help as I cant see my little brother loosing in front of my eyes.

Brief Answer:
side effect of medications

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.

The symptoms that you have mentioned are suggestive of depression disorder with probably some psychotic features. The problem that you have staed is certanly due to the side effect of the medicines that the patient is on. These are called extrapyramidal side effect called dystonias. Now these are not very rare and luckily reversible. The best medicines combination that he needs to be is fluoxetine plus olanzapine which is the only fda aproved medical combination for psychotic depression. He certainly needs to the change the medications.
In NCR i would suggest you may meet a psychiatrist at lady harding medical colllege or ihbas where there are good academic oriented psychiatrist. Or else one of yout prescription was from XXXXXXX If so then younmay contact me as well in XXXXXXX so that we can discuss the issue in much detail.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.

If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.

Brief Answer:
Answers as asked

Detailed Answer:
Hello
1. The movement of eyes with stiffining and tremors appears to be side-effect, but would require a detailed assessment. If it is EPS then it is not serious and should be reversible.
2. No please dont ask him to stop them. let him show it to me ones and then we can plan out.
3. Normally psychotic depression take 3-6 months for recovery, but varies from case to case.
4. He may visit me at Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences, XXXXXXX on tueday/thursday/saturday any time between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. No appointment would be required. Just let him remind me about the health care magic consultation. Let him bring all the documents and if required we can even admit him for 7-10 days. The services would be totally free if he comes before 19th of this month!
Kind regards
