Brief Answer:
Information on hematuria

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

If you live in the United States and have not recently traveled out of the country, this is most likely a viral gastroenteritis which should pass soon (typically within a week).

If you have traveled, let me know and I will give you different recommendations.
Also, I am assuming, since you said you generally feel fine, that you are not having abdominal pain or fever.

Here are my recommendations:
1. Eat foods that tend to be more "binding", such as rice and apple sauce. Not raw apples but cooked. And cook the rice for longer than it calls for with extra water.
2. Avoid fruits and fruit juice right now.
3. Consider taking an antidiarrheal. Pepto Bismol can be helpful in that it also has some antimicrobial and antitoxin properties.
4. Increase water intake to counter fluid loss.
5. Coconut water (not coconut milk) is pretty good for rehydration because of the electrolytes it contains. Doesn't taste great (at least I don't think so) but it's worth it. You can get it at most groceries, Walgreens, etc.

You didn't mention how many times you are going every day. One of the main risks of diarrhea is dehydration and electrolyte (particularly potassium loss) imbalances. If you are losing a lot of fluid and not able to keep water in, then it is time to go in to be seen so that you can be assessed for dehydration, electrolytes checked, abdominal exam, and possibly get an IV.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
