Question : I have severe diarrhea at times and bad gas preasure that radiates into my left shoulder into my back. I also have loud stomach noises. I also have pain in my sternum at times. I can take gas medicine and tums and it relieves the pain to some degree. I have pressure on my left side and a burning and pain in my esophagus with no foul taste. At times, I can hear the loud gas noises running through my intestines. What could this be?

Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).
It may be due to subacute intestinal obstruction with reflux disease especially if there is any alarming feature like weight loss, loss of apetite etc. Gurgling sound in stomach, pressure and pain and altered bowel habbits may all be due to subacute intestinal obstruction which has many causes.So I will advise you to visit a Gastroenterologist who will examine you and may advise you xray abdomen to see for any intestinal obstruction, endoscopy to see for reflux disease.
