Question : I have had extreme diarrhea for 8 days now. Pepto Bis. does not help. Should I go on a liquid diet for a few days? Thank you YYYY@YYYY

Increased fluids intake is the best thing to do. Given tech fact that this has been going on for 8days, I will suggest that we do a stool exam to make sure there is infection. If there is no infection, then I will recommend imodium to stop the diarrhea and help you regain normal live.

In all, increased fluid intake, stool exam and eventually imodium if there is no infection identified.
