Suggest Treatment For Severe Dizziness And Loss Of Balance

I have been doctoring trying to figure out why I have lightheadedness and imbalance (some days I can hardly motivate) I now have to use a cane to help prevent falling. I have had EVERY test imaginable and have been to ALL kinds of doctors. I have had several MRIs and CT scans. One showed I have a cyst on my sinuses. I don't know if that would do it - One of the doctors I was seeing finally told me she didn't know what was wrong and she wrote me off. I don't know if you can make any sense to this or not. But thanks for any comments you might have. I have had blood work for Lymes but never had the urine test or haven't had it sent to the lab in California where I am told that is where they can detrmine if it is Lymes - I have been bitten by at least 3 ticks in the last 4 years.

Extensive physical checkup & specific management would help.
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for the query under Health care magic. I have read it & understood your concern.
You had already visited all kinds of doctors & got several CT scans/ MRI s done to find the cause of the imbalance / lightheadedness you have - without getting satisfactory answer to the problem. Here are few more aspects which you did not mention .. which need to be considered.
- Generalized weakness that comes with low appetite or digestion leading to insufficient nutrition & energy/ low blood pressure/ low salt intake/ muscular wasting... can lead to the symptoms.
- Alcohol/ smoking can have such side effects.
- Age wise blood circulatory symptoms/ heart problem/ high blood pressure can cause this.
- You have a cyst on sinus... involvement of middle ear associated with it can cause dizziness & loss of balance.
- Eye sight problems are also likely to cause dizziness & lack of balance
-Certain drugs like anti depressants, anticonvulsants, diuretics, sedatives can cause such symptoms as side effect & need change of dosage or brand with treating doctor's advise.
- Lyme disease repeated exposure can cause neuromuscular problem to cause imbalance, not dizziness . This can be excluded by specific serum antibodies detection
* Though the list is big.. most of the conditions can be excluded with associated symptoms & examination alone.
To find the specific cause & get suitable treatment you need an extensive medical check up by a physician to start with.. who would find the possible cause & refer you to corresponding specialists for pin pointing the problem & advise of suitable medication
Thus with guidance of an expert you would definitely find the way out of the problem. Hope that answers your query. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.

Thanks again

Vestibular rehabilitation would help .
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for the follow up information which excludes almost all the possibilities I had thought of, as cause of your problem & I feel specific treatment of cause should be the target of solving any health problem. As you had said ( even before)you seem to have been in touch with all the specialties & you did not have under nutrition/ smoking, alcohol habit.or specific health problem like heart , blood pressure which can cause circulation issues .
You had been on vertigo medication...& your past history of sinus cyst.. having possibility of affecting internal ear, where lies the main balance center - vestibular apparatus. It can be the basic cause of your light headedness with imbalance.
* I would like to suggest you something which would prove to be helpful in managing the symptom.
-You would need medicine for controlling vertigo along with vestibular rehabilitation ( an exercise based program designed by specialist in vestibular physiotherapy according to patient's personal needs.) This helps in improving balance & also reducing dizziness problem.
- Avoiding known allergen & sinus problem would help preventing recurrence/ aggravation of problem.
-Antioxidants( Vitamin A, C, E )& B complex would help in reverting back the progress of problem.
In nutshell you should go for the special physiotherapy for vestibualr system along with vertigo medicines as per need..according to ENT specialist's advise.
* I hope that helps you.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
