Question: It's 10:30pm. My 13 year old started having ear pain 2pm. Now it's draining fluid and white pus and his ear is tender to the touch. How can we bring him comfort to get through the night?

Brief Answer:
Continue using Analgesic like Ibuprofen

Detailed Answer:
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Looking at the symptoms, your child might be suffering from Otitis Externa(inflammation of the outer ear).Cleaning the ear by self with an ear bud might be a cause.

He may find relief by taking the following medicines:
Continue using
Analgesic with Anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen(Ibuprofen 200 mg two times a day for a 13 year old kid)
Antibiotic ear drops like Ciprofloxacin(three drops three times a day).

You can also give him Antihistaminic like Levocetrizine and Decongestant like Phenylephrine(like Sudafed-for kids).

Also don't try to clean the ear by self.Avoid water going inside ear.

Hope this answers your question.I would be happy to answer if you have any follow-up questions.Take care.
