Brief Answer:
If throat pain is severe, then go in for throat swab.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

I am sorry you are feeling so ill.

I would say that it is reasonable to wait a day or two more except for your symptom of throat pain. It is hard to know without seeing you if this is a viral illness such as influenza or bad cold (in which case you would need to wait it out as antibiotic won't help) or strep throat, in which case it would be good not to wait but to get on penicillin or amoxicillin. Untreated strep throat can have complications.

If you live in the US, I'd suggest you either go to your doctor if you can get in to see him/her tomorrow, or go to an urgent care clinic.

A throat swab can be used to check for strep and flu. A rapid test will be done, and if negative for strep, it can be sent for a culture. The doctor can also do a blood test to check for mono.

So... given the painful throat, I'd suggest going in today if you can, and if not tomorrow at the latest.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.

Thank you so much, I don't think i am suffering from throat flu. I am not sure why i am getting temperature and because of fever my body is aching and feeling low. I did gar-gal with salt water 2- 3 time and it is better now but my fever is coming back once the paracetamol stop working.

Brief Answer:
It could be strep throat, so please do go in for a throat swab/culture.

Detailed Answer:
It would be best if you go in so a doctor can have a look in your throat.

High fever from any cause can make you feel achy, chills, fatigued. But do go get this checked.
