Brief Answer:
Female pattern baldness, treatment recommended is fine

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
I have reviewed the attached photograph as well as the prescription.
Your wife has developed female pattern hairloss.
Minoxidil is the most effective treatment for this pattern of hair loss along with hair supplement tablets.
I think the treatment recommended to your wife is fine.
Along with this doctor has also recommended about PRP therapy and Dermaroller treatment.
These are also found to be effective in the pattern of female pattern baldness.
To begin with she can start with the topical and oral medication and if the result is less than satisfactory then you can consider going for PRP and Dermaroller sessions.
Regards
Dr Asmeet

Brief Answer:
Balanced diet rich in protein, go for the investigations

Detailed Answer:
In female pattern baldness diet doesn't have much role.

Still ask your wife to take a balanced diet rich in proteins along with plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Regarding the investigations it has been seen that anemia, thyroid disorders and low Vitamin B-12 are associated with hair loss. So it is better to rule out these problems and go for supplementation if required.

So I would recommend you to go for these tests prior to start any supplementation.

Brief Answer:
Vitamin B12 & vitamin D levels deficient, supplementaion required

Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached reports and haemoglobin and thyroid function tests are normal.
Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D levels are on lower side for which supplementaion is required.
Serum ferritin is normal but in the lower range. For this iron supplementaion is required.
The correction of these deficiencies is definitely required as they will help in stopping hair fall to some extent.
Besides this your wife needs to start with the already prescribed medicines.
