Question: Dear sir, I am 35 yrs old and have been suffering from hair loss. I have taken Alpecin liquid, XXXXXXX XL lotion, Xpecia Gel, Tressgro lotion, Seba med anti dry revitalising shampoo used for 3 months as per dermatologist suggestion. But I haven't seen any improvement. How many months it takes to see hair regrowth and shall I continue same medication or are there any other prescription that suits me? I am currently taking Rosuvastatin for cholesterol. Please find attached present hair fall condition.

Brief Answer:
Topical Minoxidil and Oral Finasteride

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and I have viewed the images.
You seem to have androgenic alopecia. This type of alopecia is characterised by hair thinning and hair loss mainly from the front, mid and vertex of scalp.
There is also gradual recession of anterior hair line leading to a M-shaped pattern of anterior hair line and a broad forehead.
Minoxidil 5% solution and oral finasteride 1mg tablet are the only approved remedies for this type of alopecia in males.
Treatment is long term and results take time to show. A 3-6 months of treatment duration is the minimum amount of time before one can expect noticeable improvement.
