Brief Answer:
I recommend consulting with a neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern ,and I would like to explain that your symptoms may be caused by a migraine attack or a sinus infection.

I would like to know your age? Do you have fever?
Have you tried any pain killers during these days?

I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical examination. A routine blood test for inflammation or anemia should be performed.

A brain CT scan may be needed to exclude other causes like a sinus infection, a tumor or any other brain lesion.

Meanwhile I would recommend ibuprofen three times daily.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions!

Thanks. I am 31 I have been taking pain killers but they dont help much. I have just been trying to sleep and stay in the quiet. I do suffer with anxiety and this is making it a lot worse. I dont think its my sinus as my nose is not blocked or running. I do not wear glasses and had eyesight checked recently. Im worried as never had headaches before and this is all day and I really feel quite nauseous and dizzy

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the information provided.

I recommend consulting with the neurologist for a careful physical examination.

The fact that this is a new type of headache, never experienced before and which doesn't get better from painkillers, is concerning.

A brain CT scan may be necessary to exclude a secondary headache ( caused by a brain lesion ), especially if the neurological signs are identified during the physical examination.

If the above mentioned tests result normal the most probable diagnosis would be a tension type headache.
