Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache

Definition of migraines
Detailed Answer:
Good evening and thank you for your question on headaches.
The definition of a MIGRAINE HEADACHE is a severe headache which is generally present on one side of the head and described as throbbing or pulsating. It lasts a minimum of 4 hrs. and a maximum of 72 hrs. There are at least 2 of the following symptoms that accompany migraine headaches: Nausea, Vomiting, Photophobia (sensitivity to light), and Phonophobia (sensitivity to sound). The sensitivity of your scalp you describe is COMMONLY found as well in migraine headaches and is referred to as ALLODYNIA.
However, if your headaches actually come in waves or episodes where they are only present for a very short period of time (15-180 min) and then, stop and then, return--- perhaps 3-8x/day then, the type of headache you may be having could be different from a migraine.
My recommendation is that you schedule to see either a neurologist or a HEADACHE SPECIALIST if these headaches do not subside by tomorrow.
