Question : Nine months ago I was injured in my right pelvic area. The trauma was caused by swinging on a rope that was tied to the tree I was swinging from and ran out of scope. This mind you was not a rope burn but a pelvic contusion. I saw stars and nearly passed out. I was working at the time and was not able to go to the hospital as I was caring foe clients at the time. I went to a walk in care facility recommended by worker's comp. I have had a urologist and a gynecologist examine me and am now receiving Cranial sacral therapy. I have been in an emotional down spiral since. I have permission to make an appt. with an orthopedic doctor but don't know if I should have requested a neurologist since I have chronic pain in the area as well as my hip area. Are there speciality doctors to deal with these kinds of injuries? Thank for any direction,XXXX

Brief Answer: Consult a neurologist. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for posting your query. The chronic pain that you are having for last nine months is likely to be related to a nerve related cause. The soft tissue injury would have healed by now. For this it is best to make an appointment with a neurologist who after a proper examination and investigations will find the cause for it. You ay need to have an MRI scan to find out any nerve root compression in the area. I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health. Regards. Dr. Praveen Tayal. Do you think an orthopedic would be a waste of time. This is a worker's compensation claim, and they have been less than eager to authorize treatment. They have okayed an orthopedic for one visit, but I fear they may not okay both.

The WC Insurance won't pay for a neurologists. I am hopping the orthopedist will refer me to one. The stress of this fight to get proper care due to the unfortunate location of my injury has me looking for a bridge.
