Question : Hi Doctor, I have a lot of itchiness around my anal area and below my testicles. on approaching one of your colleagues on this app I was advised to use 1% hydrocortisone ointment which I did for around 10 days and I totally don't see any improvement at all. I keep the area totally dry and clean . can you please help me get rid of this and tell what could cause this to happen.

                                    Brief Answer:
You should also apply antifungal cream.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of fungal infection is more likely.
So you should also apply antifungal cream like ketoconazole or fluconazole thrice daily.
Also take antihistamine drug like levocetrizine or fexofenadine (oral tablet) twice daily for itching.
Please let me know
1. Do you have whitish color of skin in that area?
2. Do you feel pain in that area?
3. Do you have any blisters in that area?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
