Question : My 2.5 years old daughter Vaanya used to poke/itch her ears regularly and we used to clean using the ear buds. One day when we used the torch to see her ears then we could see something dry in left year and semi liquid puss like white in both the ears. Then we visited the ENT Specialist and she did some procedures and prescribed no further medications. But after a week she again started itching her ears and nose. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Itching in the ear may be due to Eustachian tube dysfunction

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern; it suggests that your daughter may be suffering from the Eustachian tube dysfunction.

If I were the treating doctor of your daughter then I would like to prescribe
1. Systemic and local nasal decongestant for atleast 7 days.
2. Avoid putting water, ear bud and oil in the ear.
3. Steam inhalation two times a day for atleast 5 minutes each.
If the condition persist even after 7 days then your daughter may go for the impedance audiometry.
