Question : I have been having pain in my left side. It starts in my back and goes to the front like I am having cramps from my period when I am not on my period. It has become more frequent. It is relived with pain meds but it keeps coming back. Is this part of my early menopause?

Brief Answer:
Not likely to be related to pre menopause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The intermittent pains in the lower abdomen could be due to -
1) Pelvic inflammatory disease
2) Urinary tract infection - may have associated dysuria and frequency
3) Tubo-ovarian pathologies - are usually visible on imaging studies unless it is a transient problem like torsion
4) Intestinal colic.
This pain may not be related to menopausal symptoms.
Discuss with your GP and get a good examination and some basic investigations done to sort out the issue

Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
