Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back And Hip Pain

Question: Hello,
I've been having lower back pain on the left side for months. It's getting progressively worse. It's always felt muscular in nature. This also is causing pain in my left hip, and if I try and workout, it also causes significant pain and discomfort in my groin area. I've tried chiropractic, acupuncture, massage and dry needling with no improvement at all. I'm currently in the process of setting up a MRI to be on the safe side. Any thoughts?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
MRI important to rule out hip pathology
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Thanks for the query.
Yes, hip pain radiating to the groin and sometimes the knee can be due to hip pathology and needs an MRI.
If you feel low back pain radiating to the back of the thigh and leg associated with tingling and numbness, then it could be due to slip disc.
An MRI will help to define the problem and aid in further management. We need to rule out avascular necrosis, Osteoarthritis of the hip.
I hope I have answered your query.

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX for your very prompt follow up. I wanted to be more clear of my pain. The pain doesn't radiate like sciatica or any nerve pain. As my back pain increases, my hip pain becomes more of a dull achiness, and my groin pain feels like I'm about to tear my groin muscle. I actually do know what that feels like. As my back hurts more, the hip and groin hurt more as well, but it's not radiating pain. Hopefully this helps a little.
Brief Answer:
Needs MRI
Detailed Answer:
It could be low back disorder as well especially if the pain increases in lifting weights or bending forwards.
You can get a screening MRI of the lumbosacral spine and a full MRI of the hip.
