If you were sitting or lying in a very uncomfortable position for a long time for the oral surgery, this could have set up some deep muscle spasms that are causing the pain.
Other than that I can think of no connection.
Use warm compresses or soak in warm bath water. Also avoid ice and take anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen. Gentle stretching may help but don't do any jerky movements or anything that worsens the pain. Stretching is best done after a heat treatment when the muscles are warm.
If the pain is severe or is not resolving in a few days then see a doctor.
