Question : I am experiencing severe cramps in my left pinkie and ring finger. I am also unusually tired. I take a statin. Can that cause the pain in the muscles?
Brief Answer:
Statin Induced Myopathy
Detailed Answer:
Good Day,
Statins can absolutely cause what is known as Myopathy, it is a known side effect. To stop these symptoms requires discontinuation of the medication. I would recommend you speak with physician who prescribed for you these medications, and ask for an alternative that does not have myopathy as a side effect, as you are experiencing possible muscle irritation and or rhabdomyolysis.
I wish you the best. Feel free to follow up with any questions you may have.
