Question: My doctors think I need knee replacements and a hip replacement. This I agree with..however...I am also suffering from muscle pain in my upper leg muscles and my upper arm muscles.. They tell me this is caused by the inflamation in my knees.. I have had blood tests for the past few moths ad they always show that I have an elevated inflamation somewhere in my system..Does this make sense for my muscle pain?

Brief Answer:
Polymyalgia can cause such symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. You are having inflammation in your muscles. This is called Polymyalgia. This is a autoimmune disease where your body is making anobodies against your muscles. So this is causing raised inflammation markers.
So you need to take predinisolone for your pain. Whenever you are trying for knee replacement just make sure that you are out of steroid for at least 3 months as there is high chances of infection when patient is taking steroids.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up questions.
Thanks
