Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I understand your concern and would like to explain that a careful ENT exam is necessary for localizing the exact site of bleeding.

Sometimes an increased fragility of Kiesselbach plexus is the reason for recurrent nose bleeding.

Also, impaired coagulation function may explain bleeding that occurs in other parts as well.

That's why a complete profiling of clinical and lab tests (including coagulation tests) is necessary.

Hypertension is considered an important triggering factor in the above mentioned susceptible individuals.

Coming to this point, it is necessary to properly control high blood pressure values in order to effectively stop nose bleeding.

In addition, a close monitoring of BP values for a couple of days (several times daily) is necessary to conclude on the opportunity of starting an anti-hypertensive treatment if a diagnosis of hypertension is concluded thereafter.

Coming to this point several medical tests would be recommended for ruling out a secondary hypertension an reviewing the clinical conditions:

- complete blood count,
- fasting blood glucose,
- thyroid hormones level,
- renal and liver function tests,
- blood electrolytes level,
- resting ECG,
- cardiac ultrasound

You need to discuss with her attending doctor on the above mentioned issues.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
