Cellulitis leg ollowing Recluse spider bite
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
You have developed spreading cellulitis following Recluse spider bite, with edema and erythema due to secondary bacterial infection [most often with
bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA].-causing return of pain.
You should switch over to Linezolid group of antibiotic oral in standard dose in addition to cloxacillin oral . Are you diabetic also ? If diabetic strict glycemic control is needed. Even then you should re-check your blood sugar fasting and post-postprandial to remain sure.
Also do a complete blood count and if there is any discharge send for culture & sensitivity test for further guidance.
Hopefully you have already taken tetanus prophylaxis.
For pain, you can take analgesic like ibuprofen with PPI (proton pump inhibitor e.g. pantoprazole).
.
Regards
