Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Constipation

Question : I was in the hospital about 10 months ago. With diverticulitis. On antibiotics for four days I am having severe pain now for about a month my doctor has me on two antibiotics been on the for a week now still in pain and constipation should I be feeling better by now ? Getting concerned

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concern. I would need to ask you whether you have constipation. Yes, the pain should have subsided unless it is associated with other complications like inflammatory bowel disease. A detailed evaluation is required for the same. I would urge you to visit a gastroenterologist. Based on his examination findings he would possibly suggest you a colonoscopy and certain other investigations. Intervention will depend upon the underlying cause.

I would insist you not to ignore it. I would also insist you to take fiber rich food as well as dietary fiber supplements on daily basis.

I had a colonoscopy about 6 months ago and everything was fine I am eating high fiber as much as I can I really don't feel like eating much other then high fiber cereal with fruit in the morning I have also been taking a daily laxative
