Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Numbness While Sitting

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Mar 2015
Question: i am having severe pain when I sit. It increases with great pain. When I get up I can hardly walk. It feels like pressure is building and building. To the point that I must lie down and stretch out for relief or the pain becomes so intense that I start to vomit and if someone tries to move my legs I scream in pain. I also have a nerve root problem at L5-S1. But I am beginning to think that I am dealing with two problems not one.

Brief Answer:
As per your symptoms I also suspect associated lumbar canal stenosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have read your query.

MRI says L 5 S 1 disc then Due to compression of this nerve root there can be tingling numbness in your leg and pain associated with it leading to walking difficulty.
As per your symptoms I also suspect associated lumbar canal stenosis.
For clonus there can be possibility of cerebral or spinal cord irritation which needs to be focused.

Medication like methylcobalamine with neurotropic like pregabalin will reduce pain; you can take them consulting your treating doctor.

You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.

I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
MRI shows disc compressing on nerve root then surgical decompression is permanent solution.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Take care.
