I'd surely like to be of help in this regard. Please let me know about the details of your pain like-site of pain, whether radiating or not radiating, type of pain(how do you feel like) and about the factors which worsen or improve it.

Broadly speaking, medicines like tricyclic antidepressants, anticonvulsants and opioid analgesics can be given for pain.

I shall be glad to have you in follow-up with details so that I can answer this well further.

an MRI showed a cylinder-like growth in my spinal cord in the thoracic vertebrae in 1994. the usual pain is sharp, like a kick or stab in my rib cage under my right breast. lately, the pain has started in my sternum between my breasts, then radiated left and right through both rib cages. it has happened half a dozen times in the past 2 months, while I've been sitting up. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd put the pain at 8.5 Just to be sure it wasn't GERD, I got some antacids and took them at the last episode of pain - they did not make any difference. (no other GERD symptoms) the pain lasts 1 to 2 hours then fades away.

Brief Answer:
Antineuralgics.

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxx,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

In view of your clinical history, antineuralgic drugs should be the mainline treatment of pain.Commonly used antineuralgic medicines are-amitriptyline,pregabalin,gabapentin and duloxetine.

If there is inadequate response to these medicines, opioid medications can be used.

Hope that helps. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
