Question : Recently I have had fairly severe pain in my buttocks and legs--constant pain that doesn't feel muscular. I have also suddenly gained weight in the abdomen and it doesn't fluctuate no matter how little I eat. In the past I've had a couple gall bladder attacks, but I've been able to work through those without surgery. This isn't in the same spot and doesn't feel like those gall bladder attacks. Some pain lower left abdomen. Feeling of fullness. Slight headache as well.

How long this pain in the buttocks and legs is there? ANSWER: 2 WEEKS

Is it related to your defecation movements? ANSWER: NOT A PROBLEM

Is it related to your food intake? I HAVEN'T DONE MUCH DIFFERENT EXCEPT EAT LESS. PERHAPS FEWER VEGETABLES SIMPLY BECAUSE I FEEL SO FULL AFTER I EAT.

How is your diet?High fiber,veg/ or Non-veg and spicy? I AVOID ALL SPICY. I MIGHT BE A LITTLE LOWER ON FIBER RIGHT NOW BECAUSE ANYTHING I EAT MAKES ME FEEL OVERLY FULL.

What job /work schedule of the day you have? MOSTLY SITTING AT A DESK/COMPUTER FOR ABOUT 8 HOURS A DAY. I EXERCISE WITH TREADMILL AND WEIGHTS 3X A WEEK.

Any smoking, alcohol excess habits? NEVER SMOKED. SOME RED WINE, BUT LATELY HAVE NOT FELT LIKE DRINKING THAT EITHER.

what is your weight and height? Are they normal with your information? 5 FT 3 IN, 160 LB. THIS IS 10 LB HEAVIER THAN NORMAL.

Any medical check and tests you did when the last gall bladder attack came? MEDICAL CAME BACK WITH EVERYTHING NORMAL EXCEPT GALL STONES. THE ATTACK CAME AND WENT, AND IT LOOKED AS IF I PASSED SOME SMALL STONES.

Do you pass more gases form lower down/ or from upper? LOWER, BUT NOT A LOT

Update any medical reports or doctors notes of the past illnesses ? EVERYTHING WAS CLEAR IN 2014.

Does the headache relieved with passing of stools? HEADACHE IS USUALLY LATE IN THE DAY OR WHEN I WAKE UP, AND IT DOES PASS AS THE DAY GOES ON.

Do you get normal sleep for 6-8 hrs? NORMALLY, YES. OCCASIONALLY I CAN'T SLEEP AND GET UP AT NIGHT FOR AN HOUR OR SO.

Do you have tests for stool and urine done lately? NOT LATELY, BUT IN 2014 ALL WAS NORMAL.

Obesity with Meralgia Paresthetica with hip/leg pains?/Under Investigation

Detailed Answer:
Impression-Obesity with Meralgia Paresthetica with hip/leg pains?/Femoral Hernia?-Under Investigation

Hi,thanks for the updates.
I reviewed your updates in the context of your main health concerns.
Please find My Impressions of your health issues and suggestions for its relief as follows-
You have 2 main health concerns-
a- fairly severe pain in my buttocks and legs-
-constant pain that doesn't feel muscular.
Based on the facts of your query and updates, you seems to have Meraglia Paresthetica, as the pain is in the buttocks/hips/ and legs. This is because of the oveweight causing compression entrapment syndrome of the Lateral Femoral Cuataneous Nerve-left side.

Here Other cause of Femoral hernia needs to be ruled out by USG study of the groin area, before going ahead to treat LFCN compression syndrome.

These are the 2 possibilies as, you had increased weight.

Remedy Suggestions-
USG of the Groin and Abdomen /
X-ray of the Lower Spine with Hip Joint to rule out other causes.

1-Conservative Treatment Suggested-
Weight Reduction (Target weight-63 kg/ -Now at 73 kg)
Tab Motrin under guidance of your doctor
Inj Steroid with local anaesthesia

2-Surgical-Treatment by
a-LFCN decompression
b-if no relief-LFCN Transection or Neurolysis.

b- Some pain lower left abdomen. Feeling of fullness. Slight headache as well.
Ans-This might be due to accompanying colitis-needs to be treated by –Bland Diet/Tab-Colospa/Tab-Norflox with Metrogyl
and constipation-By high fiber diet/ Plenty of fluids/Brisk Walking or Jogging –for 20 minutes

Doctor/Specialist Needed for YOU-
I would suggest you to consult Orthopedic Surgeon who would treat the LFCN compression
And Physician/ Surgeon if needed – for Constipation and Colitis and for ruling out- Femoral hernia

Hope this reply would help you to resolve the pain and suffering and worries/anxiety associated with it..

Welcome for any further query in this regard if need be, in which case I would love to attend to it, before I close this query from My end.
