Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Buttocks

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Feb 2016
Question: My husband suffers from sacroiliac pain on his left buttock. He has had cortisone shots that help for 2-3 weeks but then he's back in pain again. Is there a more permanent solution to end this pain such as severing the sacroiliac nerve? Or do you think there could be other underlying conditions causing the pain?

Brief Answer:
Sacroiliac pain

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that your husband is having back issues. It sounds like he has sacroiliac disease. This is confirmed by his good response to the steroid injections. If it were anything else the steroid injections would not be helping. At this point I believe the only option is getting nerve ablation. This is where the nerve is literally destroyed stopping the pain. He would need to see a pain specialist who performs these procedures.

Other options include, acupuncture or even medical marijuana to be completely out of the box treatment

I hope answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
