Question : Hi I have a severe pain in my calf (towards the back of the calf and on the inside). It's in a very specific place. It's been feeling tight for a few days and then I stepped down from a chair on to it and caused a lot of pain suddenly. Its now throbbing and I'm having difficulty walking without a lot of pain. Hoping it will go pass soon!

Brief Answer:
DVT should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Its most likely to be muscle strain. However a DVT should be looked for especially if there are risk factors like prolong immobility, obesity and smoking are there. If the calf is painful , swollen and/or tender then a Doppler ultrasound of the lower limbs should be done to rule out DVT. If the Doppler is clear then NSAIDs, muscle relaxants, physiotherapy can be advised.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
