Question : I am having severe leg pain in my calf that was not caused by any injury. It started when I woke up this morning and has gotten worse. When I stretch my calf I have severe pain. It is also extremely painful to the touch but not bruising. Is this something I need to go to the ER for?
Brief Answer:
it can be due to muscle cramp
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think that this pain is due to muscle cramp. Other common cause is nerve compression during sleep.
I have following suggestions for you.
1. Hot water fomentation .
2. Volini gel local application.
3. Tablet Brufen if pain is still there.
I hope these steps will help in your pain. Do not stand on leg for long time. If still pain is persisting or increasing than you need to visit doctor.
I hope this answer will be helpful to you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Thanks
